The skin is lightening permanently

Remove pigment spots and lighten skin - that's how it works

Pimples are annoying enough, but the pigment spots that remain on the face afterwards are almost as nasty and stubborn. You are just happy to have found effective care against pimples, and you have to grapple with the question of how to lighten nasty dark spots on the skin. Dark patches of skin on the face do not just appear on the skin as pimples. These pigment spots can also spread on the skin as the remains of other injuries, inflammations or as a result of increased exposure to the sun. But do not worry, because: lightening the skin and removing pigment spots is not an impossibility. Once you have discovered the best anti-pigmentation cream for yourself, dark spots on your face will gradually disappear. You just have to be patient, because the lightening of the pigment spots does not happen overnight, of course! In the blog post on the subject of care for pigment spots and skin lightening, we give tips and recommend effective care!

Lighten pigment spots: This is how they arise

A so-called pimple mark, which remains as dark patches of skin on the face, is the result of damage that is deeper into the tissue. The structure of the skin in the deeper layers was damaged, for example by a pimple that was inflamed. A pink to reddish, sometimes brown discoloration remains as a pigment spot on the skin. Either the collagen-elastin structure is damaged or melanin cells with dark pigments collect under the skin at the point of inflammation and are only gradually lightened as new skin cells regrow. Fortunately, however, this discoloration does not last. With skin-renewing care, the regrowing (unpigmented) skin can be brought out while the pigmented skin cells are gradually removed.

This is how you quickly get an even complexion again and can lighten dark spots on the skin:

First of all, a well-intentioned advice: Please avoid pushing around on pimples and co. As tempting as it is - you will damage your skin more than you think. Where normally only a small and short-lived reddening would have remained, there is a dark pimple mark, the lightening of which is tedious and laborious.

You don't have to resort to a bleaching cream for every pimple or pigmentation mark. Special skin care products against pigment spots, for example, often contain active ingredients that inhibit the production of melanin. Brown spots in the skin and sun spots are gradually reduced.

Our tip: the Ultimate W + Whitening care line from Mesoestetic. Individual pigment spots can be targeted with the Whitening Spot Eraser be lightened. The concentrated special serum efficiently reduces hyperpigmentation and can effectively lighten dark spots on the skin.

Stay away from home remedies such as skin lightening with baking soda or lemon

We strongly advise against harsh home remedies or DIY tips that suggest putting lemon juice or baking soda on the skin to naturally lighten the skin. This method could hardly be more damaging to the skin. Bleaching the skin with lemon juice is not only ineffective, it can also be extremely damaging to the skin. The very acidic juice with an extremely low pH value irritates the skin and can even delay healing processes. In the worst case, such a treatment with citric acid can lead to chemical burns on the skin. The baking soda is just as harmful. Its pH value in the basic range is, on the other hand, much too high and damages the protective acid mantle. Bacteria and the dehydration of the skin are opened the door. Lightening the skin with ascorbic acid is possible, but only a high-quality skin care product with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) should be used here. Here the pH value of the acid is controlled and adjusted in such a way that the skin can best benefit from it.

Lighten skin with ascorbic acid - Our tip: The Med Beauty Swiss Vitamin Power C Serum with pure ascorbic acid brightens the skin, removes pigment spots and alleviates sun damage.

Not all dark spots on the skin are caused by melanin, however. Other rosy pimple marks cannot be removed with a single active ingredient; instead, the skin should be lightened with a clever skin care routine step by step. Here are our 4 tips for lightening skin and removing pigment spots:

Tip 1: Mild care is essential for long-term care success!

Annoying dark patches of skin on the face can drive us to the edge of madness. Aggressive cleaners with harsh surfactants and peelings with coarse grains do not help to improve the complexion of the skin in the fight against pigment spots. Rather, they can cause further irritation. Mild and natural products with herbal ingredients promote the healing processes of the skin.

Tip 2: fruit acid peels to lighten pigment spots

The best cream against pigment spots is only half as effective as a peeling with fruit acids. Because ingredients like AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid) loosen the uppermost horny layer of the skin and lift the pigmented skin cells from the skin. The regrowing skin, which is free of pigmentation, comes to the surface faster. By also releasing keratinization on the pores, the AHA also prevents the further development of pimples and thus stops one of the causes of annoying dark skin spots on the face. Ascorbic acid, i.e. vitamin C, is one of the few ingredients that can gently lighten the skin. For example the GlyClean care range from Med Beauty Swiss Contains effective concentrations of AHA that aid in renewing and brightening the complexion.

Tip 3: The best cream against pigment spots is sunscreen (daily!)

Sunlight, regardless of whether it is UVA or UVB radiation, is always an obstacle to the skin's healing processes. Red spots, inflammations and pigment spots generally heal more slowly when exposed to UV light. At the same time, of course, strong UV protection protects the skin from further discoloration. Because the dark spots on the face can also be caused by the sun - but these sun spots don't even appear if we protect our skin with at least SPF 30 every day.

Unprotected exposure to UV light (which reaches your skin continuously, regardless of whether it is sunny or cloudy) always has a negative impact on the regenerative function of the skin, which means that the red spots of pimples remain visible for longer. Exposing damaged skin cells to UV light (even if you are not sunbathing or sunburned) slows down the recovery of the skin and makes the healing process less efficient. Protecting your skin against UV on a daily basis is extremely important if you want to avoid discoloration. It also makes your skin look healthier and younger!

Tip 4: Ask your beautician about the right treatment for lightening pigment spots

Last but not least, treatments by the beautician can also specifically help lighten the skin. Treatments such as HydraFacials, micro needling or microdermabrasion can specifically contribute to lightening the complexion. However, you should only have such treatments carried out by trained hands. In home treatment with microdermabrasion and the like, the risk of damaging the skin is far too great. Ask your beautician about the right treatment for your skin!

Don't lose your patience!

The most important thing when lightening pigment spots: don't lose your patience! Protecting the skin from sun damage should always be the top priority, even if the positive results are not immediately apparent the next day. The motto here: take precautionary measures. And even the most stubborn dark spots on the skin can be lightened with careful and well thought-out care. However, the healing process of the skin cannot be artificially accelerated. Keep up!
