How high is the risk of contracting Covid-19 on a plane?

Getting infected during a flight is very low. Condor has implemented a number of measures on the ground and in the air to protect all travelers and our employees.

In addition, special air filters are installed in each of our aircraft, the standards of which correspond to those installed in clinical facilities such as hospitals for cleaning the air. These filters ensure that the cabin is cleaned and filtered from contamination such as bacteria or viruses.

The air inside the cabin of an aircraft circulates from top to bottom and not horizontally. The likelihood of an infection being transmitted via airflow in an aircraft is accordingly just as low as in an operating room in a German clinic. All travelers are also asked to take individual hygiene measures, such as frequent hand washing or avoiding touching the face.

Will the middle seat remain free?

According to experts, this is not necessary, as your mouth and nose protection provides adequate health protection. As far as the occupancy permits, we still ensure that the seats are allocated as spaciously as possible. In principle, however, an infection on board remains very unlikely.

Which filters are used in the aircraft?

In our aircraft, filter technologies are used that clean the air from the smallest airborne particles, explicitly viruses. These filters are also used in operating theaters. Due to the air flow from top to bottom, not from the side or horizontally, infection through the air on board is extremely unlikely.

Are there disinfectants in the toilets?

There are soap dispensers in the toilets. Thorough and intensive hand washing is a simple and effective measure to protect yourself from infection. You should also avoid touching your face.

According to which standards are the cabins cleaned?

Condor aircraft are generally cleaned after every flight and in accordance with the highest hygiene standards. The aircraft cabin is cleaned according to strictly prescribed procedures that comply with the requirements of the authorities. This applies to both the individual seating areas with tables and the washrooms.

How do you deal with a guest who shows symptoms before or during the flight?

Anyone who shows symptoms before departure can be excluded from carriage.
In the interests of your own health and that of all fellow travelers, please only start your journey if you feel healthy and do not show any symptoms of illness. In the event of a suspected case on board, there are strict regulations and processes for which our cabin crews are trained.
