Advantages of a hiking backpack

Whether a short trip to the mountains or a backpacker tour of several weeks in a foreign country: A backpack is often more practical as luggage than a classic suitcase. A special hiking backpack should always be preferred to an everyday backpack:

Nowadays, mainly synthetic fibers such as nylon and polyester are used as materials for trekking backpacks. Leather is not really suitable for hiking backpacks: it is heavy and only dries very slowly if the backpack gets wet.
