Grand Slam tournaments 2021: schedule, dates, broadcast live on TV & stream - next in May

The Australian Open, French Open, US Open and Wimbledon Championships - these Grand Slam tournaments are considered to be the four most important tournaments in women's and men's tennis. Both the prize money and the possible points for the world rankings are higher than in all other tennis tournaments. Here you can find out when the Grand Slam tournaments in 2021, which will be organized by the ITF and not the ATP, will take place despite the corona pandemic and where the tournaments can be followed live on TV and stream .

The Grand Slam tournaments 2021 at a glance

The corona pandemic is severely affecting the usual scheduling of the Grand Slam tournaments. The traditional grass tournament in Wimbledon finds in all probability after June 28th to July 11th instead, but with fewer spectators. The Grand slam tournamentFrench Open in Pariswas from May 23rd now due to the lockdown in France on the Postponed May 30th to June 13th. It is currently completely unclear whether the US Open / Flushing Meadows will take place. The Australian Open in January alone was firmly scheduled. Their start had been postponed 3 weeks to February 8 and the qualifying games had been relocated to Doha. They took place from January 10th to 13th. We will keep you up to date on all changes at this point (current status, ATP schedule from December 16, 2020).

  • Wimbledon: June 28th to July 11th 2021, with reduced audience numbers

Dates & schedule: Australian Open - Grand Slam tournament in hot Melbourne

Australian Open: February 8, 2021 to February 21, 2021 (rescheduled)

The current dates for the Australian Open have now been set. The first Grand Slam tournament of the year will take place three weeks later than originally planned. Since the players in the tournament have a two-week quarantine obligation due to the corona pandemic and cannot enter the country until January, the tennis players have little preparation time. The start date for the main round has therefore been postponed.

French Open 2021: when will the tournament take place in Paris?

The tournament at the Roland Garros Stadium in Paris was dated from May 24th to June 6th, 2021. Due to the nationwide lockdown in France, the tournament has now been postponed by a week and will now take place from May 30th to June 13th. The 4-week lockdown ends at the beginning of May. The clay court tournament, also known as Roland Garros and considered to be the most physically demanding tournament, is organized by the ITF.

Dates Grand Slam at Wimbledon 2021

The oldest and Most prestigious tennis tournament in the world will take place from June 28th to July 11th, 2021. The Audience will however reduced, The organizer has already announced that, everyone else activities should greatest possible flexibility in order to be able to react adequately to the pandemic. In 2020, the lawn tournament at the AllEngland Club in Wimbledon was canceled for the first time since the Second World War due to the corona pandemic.

US Open / Flushing Meadows: When will the US Open 2021 take place?

For the August 30th to September 12th is dated the tournament of the US Open in New York. It is completely unclear whether this can take place despite the aggravated Corona situation in the USA and New York. A final decision for the US Grand Slam tournament is still pending. As soon as the ITF publishes more information, we will inform you here.
